Service Day: Collection day for trash is Wednesday, carts shall be placed at the curb by 5:00 am on the day of service. All trash must be bagged and placed inside the cart provided and the lid must close properly. No other containers will be collected. No trash bags outside the cart will be picked up without a sticker purchased at the city hall, with the exception of the service day after Christmas wherein up to 5 (35 gallon trash bags) outside of the cart will be collected at no additional charge.

Bulk Service: One bulky waste item will be picked up once a month on the first Wednesday of each month. Please contact ORION at least 48 hours in advance to arrange for bulk service. Customer support can be reached at 785-232-9168.

Acceptable bulk item examples: Furniture, mattress, large toys, hot water tank, common household appliances.
Non-Acceptable bulk items: Appliances with hazardous materials, construction debris, fluids, batteries, tires, pesticides/herbicides or other hazardous waste.

Yard Waste: Yard waste will be serviced weekly with a limit of 5 bundles of limbs less than 2" in diameter and less than 40 pounds per bundles. Placed at least 3 feet from your cart. Do Not Mix Trash & Yard Waste.

Trash 96 gallon     $17.94 per month
Senior 96 gallon    $15.93 per month
Extra cart               $ 5.50 per month
Extra bag sticker   $ 2.00 per bag

Holidays: Holidays observed are Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, & New Years. If your pickup day falls on one of these holidays, your service will be delayed one day.
